In Drum Mania, the player's controls consist of two cymbals, three drum pads and a foot pedal. As with most of konami's music games, symbols fall from the top of the screen. The symbols match up with the players pads and as each symbol hits the action line located at the bottom of the scree, the player must hit the correct drum, symbol or pedal. If the player scores a number of hits in a row without any misses, the player's combo meter rises. The player must reach a preset amount of points to achieve success and advance to the next level.
